A STROLL THROUGH VENICE

Before this flight I had a Manchester (which I swapped onto because I needed supplies from the UK!) - I never do UK layover blogposts because all I ever do is go shopping rather than sightseeing. Maybe next time I'm in London I'll take more pictures and do a post about it :)
Anyway... back to gorgeous Venice! I loved this layover! I flew with a friend from my date of joining and I'd also had my Singapore/Brisbane multi-sector with her :) It was so good to spend some time in a different country with her again :)
We landed in the afternoon and thought it would be best to just get the next shuttle bus into the city (it was free from our hotel which was ideal). Venice is so beautiful I just can't get over it. There are so many small streets with canals passing through. So many little shops selling souvenirs and the famous masks. We had such a nice time taking so many pictures, walking around and taking it all in.

This was my favourite canal/street by far. I loved the hanging baskets of flowers and the little lanterns on the wall. The colours just looked so beautiful all together. We were all pretty hungry after the walking and taking photos. It was time for the famous Italian pizza of course. No wonder they say cabin crew put on weight... but if we get freshly made pizza in Italy then how can you say no? Worth every calorie.

I had such a good layover with this crew and Venice was the perfect backdrop. I would definitely come again because I feel like there's still so much of it I haven't seen. There are so many side roads it's kinda confusing. I'm glad we were there with someone who had been before so he at least knew his way around a little bit. But all the streets are so similar looking it's like a maze! I can understand why it's a perfect romantic holiday destination :)
See you soon Venice for sure!
