I went to Zürich last summer with my family, but I was so excited to be back there again for Christmas time. It's such a pretty little place, and I knew the experience would be different with Christmas markets and the chill wintery air :) I was also very excited because I would be turning 24 on the flight back to Dubai!
We arrived in Zürich in the night so I decided to get room service (which I love! I'd never had it before becoming cabin crew) and then get to bed. I'd arranged to have breakfast with one of the girls on my flight, and then we were going to go to the Christmas markets in the city :) Breakfast was amazing because they had warm Nutella muffins... we took one each for our journey to the city haha.
Everything was so Christmassy when we arrived at the market. It smelled soooo yummy with all the different foods cooking outside on log fires. Too bad we were so full from breakfast! But we did get a gingerbread latte from Starbucks... because, well, why not? It's Christmas time! You just have to :)

We walked past Läderach and I was SO tempted to buy all the chocolate... I satisfied myself by taking this picture instead (not the same). I got plenty of that chocolate last summer and it is SO YUMMY! They have these little dome shaped ones filled with creamy white soft meringue, and you can get different ones that have different toppings like caramel, or SALTED caramel, coconut, fruity ones... loads as you can see the endless selection. Okay I'm actually drooling over my Macbook right now. I should have bought some :/ I will be going back for them...

They had these gorgeous Swarovski trees everywhere in the city too. Each tree must have had a thousand of the crystal star baubles in different sizes. It looked so beautiful. My tree of dreams! And my mum's! I know she would love it.
We did a bit of shopping in the city... I had pretty much finished my Christmas shopping so I treated myself to a pair of boots from Zara haha. I am in looove with them, such an impulse buy but I think they are usually the best kind of purchases!
Before too long it was time to head back to the hotel for a little nap before the flight home. I kept forgetting it was going to be my birthday in a matter of hours but the crew reminded me all too soon by singing happy birthday to me in the middle of the airport! It was so funny! But it made me so happy :)

Just getting into our Christmas outfits!

The purser surprised me with a cake and a little celebration in the first class galley! It was soooo nice of him and so unexpected :) He also got me a little present of chocolates and biscuits which was lovely :)

They really helped make the start of my birthday special and I'll never forget it :) I didn't ever think I'd spend part of my 24th birthday amongst the clouds on an A380 with a fabulous crew :)
When I got back to Dubai I celebrated with some of my friends who were home and we went to the Irish Village. It was so much fun because I hadn't seen a few of them for a while since our schedules are so all over the place. But I had a lovely time and we counted down to CHRISTMAS!
I want to thank my beautiful friends and my amazing crew for making me feel so special on my birthday! :)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :) :) :)
