Christmas Markets in Frankfurt

I recently got back from my layover in Frankfurt, and oh my goodness I was in Christmas heaven! Anyone who knows me, knows I love Christmas! It's my birthday month, and everything sparkles and glitters in December! :)

I loved Frankfurt for the amazing markets, the food, the mulled wine, the lovely crew I was with, and the feeling it gave me of Christmas time. Unfortunately it doesn't feel very Christmassy in Dubai... I just can't get my head around the fact that it's warm and I don't need to wear a coat outside in December. Some of the malls have decorations and obviously I do have a beautiful christmas tree in my flat... but there's just something about this time of year that requires the cold weather, the cosy nights in with a blanket by the fire, a hot cup of cocoa and watching Christmas films with family. This is my first Christmas away from my family and I know it's going to be hard, but I'm definitely going to try and make it feel special :)

My beautiful tree :)

Frankfurt definitely helped me get into the mood! It was cold for one, and it just looked more Christmassy than Dubai!

We were all starving when we arrived in the city so it was straight to the food stalls! Obviously had to get a frankfurter sausage when in Frankfurt!

We then got mugs of delicious mulled wine, or gluwein in German! How cute are the little mugs as well! They were ours to keep if we wanted so I've got it as a little souveneir :)

Cheers!

This little stall was so cute. Everything was handmade and wooden. I bought some more wooden baubles for my tree :) I loved it when the sun set and the whole market just came alive. It looked so pretty with all the lights twinkling.

We rounded off the night with a little go on the merry-go-round! :) I felt like a little kid again but it was so much fun. I really loved Frankfurt at Christmas time. It's such a pretty city and I'd love to go back there again next year :)

Also, I didn't mention but I just had my two flights to London. I took full advantage of the gigantic Primark on Oxford Street :D I ended up shopping on both days because I had so many Christmas presents to buy and what better place to do your Christmas shopping?! I have another London at the end of the month which will also probably be spent shopping... but this time in the sales! :D Can't wait!

Hope everyone else is getting into the Christmas spirit! :) Next layover I'm off to Hong Kong! Another one to check off my list yay!
