I'm here in Dubai!

Hellooo Dubai! I've finally made it here, I can't believe it!

On the day that I flew out to Dubai from Newcastle I was really nervous. Mostly about my overweight suitcases haha... but also about saying bye to my lovely family and friends, who were so sweet to come see me off :) As expected, when I got to the counter at the airport my suitcases were VERY overweight :/ Ooops haha. Then after that everything got very emotional :( I couldn't even take my pictures properly because I kept crying. I knew it was going to be hard saying bye to everyone, but I didn't think I was going to be actually sobbing! But I felt okay once I got onto the flight :) It was my very first flight out to Dubai so I was really excited by this point.

The Boeing 777 is beautiful. The service was really good too. I had fun and learnt a lot about the in-flight service. The cabin crew were so lovely and took care of me, showing me around and I even got to see Business Class! :)

I got to my apartment at around 3am Dubai time. Thankfully the comfiest bed ever was waiting for me :) The day after I met up with one of my best friends from uni who lives here in Dubai! It had been a few months since we'd last seen each other so I was really looking forward to a catch up and some lovely dinner. I also managed to get an essential food shop in, and realised that malls don't ever seem to close in Dubai... 2am, seriously?

The day after (Sunday) I started my Induction Week! Yeah Sunday is my new Monday, and Thursday is my new Friday... still not used to it haha. Induction Week was good because we were waiting around a lot (which was boring) but I also got to know the people in my batch much better :) Lots of selfies that week haha.

The weekend seemed to arrive so quickly after Induction and we were desperate to go see some of the Dubai city night lights :) The girls and I ended up going to Pier 7 on the Marina which was amazing. I had some lovely sushi, and the view was incredible.

On the Saturday morning we all had a Mosque visit, which was really interesting. Afterwards we decided to go and explore Dubai Mall! It's one of the main touristy things to do in Dubai and I was desperate to see the famous aqaurium! It didn't disappoint :)

So happy to see it in real life!

The Souks in Dubai Mall. These are like loads of smaller shops that mostly sell gold, spices, traditional clothing, and loads of other interesting stuff.

Having a Gossip Girl moment...

We decided that with our first proper pay cheques we'd buy a pair of Sarah Jessica Parker shoes. Matching shoes, a sign of true friendship! Hahaha

I had such a lovely first week :) I'm so happy to have met some amazing people already. And I'm just counting down the days to when I can start flying! ... Watch this space :)
